ALEX WALTON - APRIL 1981 - TODAY
Hi, I’m Alex, London born and bred, I’ve lived in all 4 corners of the capital and settled in leafy South East after falling in love with GREENWICH. I was born an Actor, and always will be and that’s where my love of telling stories comes from – albeit on stage, screen or through a lens…
I love capturing moments, be that on the street watching a situation unfold, or that soft split second just after a laugh in a Headshot or Portrait. There is a story everywhere and I see photos as a way of showing a snapshot of that moment – and as we all know the eyes are the gateway to the soul and I love them, especially when they’re as sharp as a pin!
It all started when I was getting tired of doing self-tapes on my mobile, and wanted to invest and explore a better calibre of camera so picked up in my first DSLR and thus the journey began.
I started by hitting the streets of London on my down time and wondering round the South Bank and City areas taking snapshots of the world as it went by – sticking some headphones in and just drifting along, and I fell for the feeling of just watching those moments in life unfold.
Coming from an Acting background a lot of people I know feel super Comfortable in front of the camera and I started taking pictures of friends in parks, to help them out as well as it being really Fun!. Fast Forward to present day, upgrades in equipment, hours upon hours of YouTube, courses, practice, trial and error - mix that with the amount of the fun and Enjoyment I had both in front of my computer Teaching myself the skills needed and generally being on shoots hanging out with people and having a good time.
I thought ‘this is a Passion I want to do for a Living’ – so that’s what I decided to do!
